One of the most important documents any assisted living facility has is its policy and procedures.  As a result of the new ALR & ALF rules and regulations, this document takes on greater important in the management of living homes.  Learn how to craft a powerful manual that is in compliance with Chapter 7 and that will facilitate the successful management of your assisted living residence.

Recruitment & Retention of Outstanding Staff

Mitigating Liability in a Person Centered Care Environment

Resident choices and preferences in receiving services in ALR settings create many risks for liability to ALR providers.  Increasing acuity levels frequently go beyond the general scope of services for ALRs by requiring external services to be contracted by home care agencies and hospices.  Which entity is responsible for what services?  This program will explore the strategies AL providers can use to avoid or mitigate these related liability risks in order to remain in compliance with the new state regulations.

Insurance 101 for ALRs

Insurance is vital component for your assisted living operation. It can be confusing, frustrating, expensive and a life saver all at the same time.  Whether it’s Commercial Property and Liability, Workers’ Compensation or Commercial Auto, understanding your coverages is a must for the protection you need for your business.

Caregiving professionals who participate in program will walk away with a better understanding of LGBT identity, the challenges that LGBT older adults have faced over time, as well as the incredible resilience of this community. Participants will learn skills that will help them provide affirming and culturally competent care for LGBT older adults.

These two Association leaders will give an update on the ongoing process of revising the new CDPHE Rules and Regulation for home with 19 or fewer beds.  Give your input to create the rules you want.

HCPF:  Person Centered Care - Settings Rule Update

Speakers: Barb Rydell, Community Settings Supervisor, CDPHE, Leah Pogoriler, Strategic Policy Advisor, HCPF, and Kyra Acuna, HCBS Benefits Specialist, HCPF

This team will update you on the current status of the HCBS Settings Final Rule implementation in Colorado. They will explain how ACF and SLP providers are able to become fully compliant with the rule, including individual rights, informed choice and being an active member of their community, similar to individuals not receiving Home and Community Based Services. The presentation will include the new rights modification process and time for questions and answers.
