Introduction to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS)

Presented by: Local Governmental Emergency Preparedness Experts

This introductory session will present an overview of

the National Incident Management System (NIMS),

the Incident Command System (ICS), and related

preparedness initiatives. NIMS provides a consistent nationwide template to enable Federal,State, and local governments,  the private sector, and nongovernmental organizations to work together using methods to prepare for, prevent, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of incidents regardless of cause, size, location, or complexity.

EMSystem Overview and Training

Presented by: Aubrey Kukral, EMSystem State Administrator

 

The EMSystem Overview Sessions will provide an overview of both EMResource and EMTrack along with demonstrations of the web-based application.

Explore Communications, Resource and Tracking Management solutions that streamline communications between medical response teams and healthcare providers by monitoring healthcare assets, emergency department capacity and behavioral health and dialysis bed status; a proven tracking solution that supports the tracking of people, pets, and associated property and equipment.

Attendees will have the ability to become users of the systems as well as discuss how to implement the systems successfully into their facilities.

Business Continuity Programs

Presented by: Joel Cochran, Summit County Emergency Management

 These resources are designed to help both novice and experienced planners navigate the planning process.Used in its entirety, this Guide provides information and instruction on the fundamentals of planning and their application.

Colorado Health Alert Network: Exploring our Communications Resources or an Informal Discussion Of Experiences And Best Practices

Presented by: Local Governmental Emergency Preparedness Experts

4:30 – 6:00

Legislative Meet and  Greet  - Network with Legislators and Movers and Shakers in Assisted Living.

 

This training is provided FREE to all Assisted Living Residences through a grant funded by CDPHE.  This training introduces ALR staff and administrators to challenges, basic principles and resources of emergency preparedness and response



These courses are a basic foundation for creating a comprehensive Emergency Preparedness platform in the Assisted Living Industry in Colorado.

 

It is recommended that all owner/operators, Executive Directors, Administrators and Managers

 attend these foundational level courses so they can be knowledgeable and prepared for more in depth trainings coming in the next 6 -12 months.
