This class has 5 modules. The class will be a zoom format with quizzes to show competency. You will also be given supporting check lists, forms, best practice ideas to assist with running an Assisted Living Home compliant with CDPHE Regulations of 2024 . Class meets by Zoom Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 am to Noon, as well as Wednesday from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. A competency test will be provided on Day 5.
Session 1 – Administrator Duties and how to get it all done with a teamwork approach • Monthly Check off forms • Mock Survey form including regulations changes • Power point on forming a “Regulatory Compliant Culture “ • Do you have a process for everything?
Session 2 – Staffing Hiring process that will be easier to get staff hired, trained and have their employee file compliant with Chapter 7 regulations. • Orientation training sheet consistent with 2024 requirements • Ongoing training and certificates that expire ( CPR, First Aid, Dementia 2 hours every 2 years) • Staff Working independently and how is training different • How to determine if a training site is compliant with CDPHE regulations.
Session 3 – Summary of Regulations changes from 2021 and changes in 2024 • Changes in Chapter 7 based on bills passed in 2022 (SB22-154, SB22-079 and SB 22-053) SB 22-154 Training for Administrators, increase in fines, and involuntary discharge SB22-079 Dementia Training for all ALR providers SB22-053 Visitation Rights • Policies and Procedure update • What documents must be updated to meet regulations for 2024 • How to try and avoid issues with an involuntary discharge
Session 4 – How to keep your home out of Hot water with CDPHE • COHFI site and communication • Don’t operate in the dark, • Friends in the business make a difference
Session 5 – Meds from Move in to Move out and everything in between • Med Cart Audits • Med. Disposal and Destruction • Keeping Orders compliant • What about providers that are difficult to work with? • Double check system
