Regulatory Meeting Announcement: Pertaining to the Implementation of HB12-1268
The Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) and the Department of Public Health and Environment (DPHE) have been working together to prepare to implement the provisions of HB 12-1268 which is scheduled to occur on July 1, 2013 @ 1:30 PM.
The objective of this communication is to announce a meeting and invite the interested parties within the general public, licensed health facilities, design professionals, fire code officials and other health care stakeholders to provide input for consideration towards the implementation of HB12-1268.
Included with this meeting announcement is a copy of the proposed temporary DFPC rules pertaining to the transfer of functions of health facility compliance with certain building safety standards from the DPHE to DFPC for your review.
Our goal in this process is to ensure that all aspects of the transition are carefully considered and carried out in the best interests of facilities, patients, residents, and other stakeholders, and to ensure a smooth and transparent transfer of Colorado's Life Safety Code (LSC) oversight process.
Your opinions are very valuable to us and we appreciate your time and effort towards helping us make this transition successful.
The meeting will take place at:
South Metro Fire Rescue Authority
HQ Board Room - Main Floor
9195 East Mineral Avenue,
Centennial, CO 80112

The changes being proposed will have significant impact on your business. We need as many CALA members as possible at this meeting. We need to send a strong message to the regulators that the proposed regulations are expensive, arbitrarily and do little to hold the costs of doing business in the state to a reasonable level.
Questions with regard to the HB12-1268 Stakeholder Meeting should be directed to:
Robert Sontag: robert.sontag@state.co.us (303)692-2885
Steven Stokes: steven.stokes@state.co.us (303) 239-4665
Your help is needed.
Please be at Friday’s Meeting.
