    Did you know that the Administrator is responsible for appointing someone to be the Qualified Designee and is responsible for making sure the designee is capable of filling in.   

    6.8 Duties:  

    (L) Appointing and supervising a qualified designee who is capable of satisfactorily fulfilling the administrator’s duties when the administrator is unavailable.  

    The name and contact information for the administrator or qualified designee on duty shall always be readily available to the residents and public. 


    Day 1

    Getting around in the regulations to find answers when things come up

    When a staff member has to put on immediate leave

    Day 2  

    The Dreaded Health Dept: Be Survey Ready 

    Do a mock survey to get the building ready for survey  

    Where to find the QMP, Policy and Procedure manual, Fire safety manual  

    What is needed for a Plan of Correction and how to file an extension  

     

    Day 3   

    Occurrence Reporting   

    What needs to be reported  

    How to Report through the COHFI Site  

    Contagious or Covid situation reporting  

     

    Day 4   

    What if there is Racoon in the attic or Rat in the house? And other crazy safety events.  

    Emergency Procedures: including evacuating the building  

    Resident Assessments and Safe Return Assessments  

    Pests in the building  

    What to do if you have NO idea what to do, who to call what support do you need.  

    Preferred Vendor list for plumbing, electrical, garage door opener, furnace, AC issues  

     

    Quiz is handed out at the end of the 4th day to evaluate competency.  CALA issues the certificate for the employee file
